Multiple victims in Minneapolis Catholic school shooting and suspect reportedly dead | Minneapolis

Police responded to an active shooter incident in a Catholic school in South Minneapolis on Wednesday, with sources confirming that there are several victims and that the shooter is now dead.

The crews on the scene said they saw a large number of ambulances, according to CBS. Sources told ABC News that there were several victims of a shooting that had taken place during the morning deposit at the Catholic School Annunciation of Minneapolis.

The Minnesota children’s hospital told Minneapolis Star Tribune that it currently had five children “admitted to our hospital for care” and “will not share more details to respect the intimacy of our patients and families”.

Official X account of the city of Minneapolis said that there was “no active threat to the community right now” at 10:29 a.m..

“The shooter is contained. Taken away from the region to allow emergency staff to help the victims – W. 54TH Street between Lyndale and Nicollet Ave,” wrote the city.

The suspect would have died, according to Fox 9. The point of sale also indicated that the first call to the police had spent at 8:27 am local time, shortly after a mass for students was to start at 8:15 am.

The Richfield police service, a suburb that borders Minneapolis, told Fox 9 that there were 20 victims. We did not know how much, if necessary, were dead.

US Interior Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that the Ministry of Internal Security was watching the shooting.

“We are in communication with our partners interinstitutions and will share more information as soon as it is available. I pray for the victims of this heinous attack and their families,” said Noem.

Donald Trump also declared on Truth Social Wednesday morning that he had been “fully informed of the tragic shooting” and that “the White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation. Please join me to pray for everyone involved!”

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Bureau said in a statement that he “actively helped the Minneapolis police service and other law enforcement organizations” and urged “all residents to stay outside the affected area to allow emergency stakeholders to operate effectively”.

“This is an evolving situation and we will continue to provide updates as more and more information become available. Our hearts go to all those affected by this act of violence,” he said.

Students from the Annunciation Catholic School, who enrolled preschool children in the eighth year, only returns for their first summer vacation day on Monday. The school’s Facebook page shared the images this week of students bringing together and parking their bikes.

Wednesday incident marks the fourth shooting in 24 hours in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During Tuesday until Wednesday, three people were shot in three separate shots. At least eight people have also been shot in these incidents.
