Los Angeles is finally expanding its mass transit system to the bustling streets of Beverly Hills, announcing Thursday that a 4-mile extension of the D subway line will open on May 8.
Transit enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the new subway expansion have long made jokes on Reddit and X about wanting to “take the D.” Metro, the Los Angeles County transportation agency, doesn’t shy away from a quirky pun. The agency sells “Ride the D” t-shirts and crop tops on its online store.

Minimalist black tops are also a good deal. The Harvest is $20 (excluding tax and shipping) and the T is $21; both were still available Thursday evening.
