NASA 2026 Human Lander Challenge

The NASA Human Lander Challenge (HULC) is an initiative supporting its efforts from the Directorate of the Development Development Mission (ESDMD) to explore innovative solutions for a variety of known technological development areas for human landing systems (HLS). Landers are used to securely transport astronauts to and from the lunar surface as part of the mission architecture for the Artemis campaign in NASA. Thanks to this challenge, students contribute to the progress of HLS technologies, concepts and approaches. Improvements in these technological areas have the potential to revolutionize the approach of NASA to spatial exploration, and contributions from the university community are a precious part of the trip to discovery. Hulc is open to teams made up of undergraduate students and / or part -time graduates in a community college, college or university accredited. HULC projects allow students to incorporate their courses into real aerospace design concepts and work together in a team environment. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
