NASA Glenn Celebrates Ohio Space Week

The Ohio Space Week, from September 8 to 13, underlined the aerospace heritage of the State and the role of Glenn Research Center of NASA in the advancement of space technology.
The week started with the Glenn Space Technology symposium from the American Astronautical Society, from September 8 to 10, organized by Case Western Reserve University. The experts, students and leaders of the industry met to discuss emerging space technologies. The director of NASA Glenn, Dr. Jimmy Kenyon, presented opening comments, and astronaut Doug “Wheels” Wheelock gave a speech on his space flight experience.
On September 11, the NEO team welcomed the sixth annual Ohio Space forum at NASA Glenn, bringing together leaders of aerospace, government, academic world and research. The forum highlighted Ohio leadership in spatial innovation, including progress in nuclear power and nuclear thermal propulsion. The main participants included the NASA associate administrator, Amit Kshatriya, the astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams, several local and state officials and other community partners. 3News the chief meteorologist Betsy Kling changed the event.
The Cleveland City Club welcomed astronauts Williams and Wheelock for a presentation to the local community on September 11, and that Cleveland Guardians fans applauded while Williams launched the first launch in the match at Progressive Field later.
Discovery Days, The Capstone of Ohio Space Week, welcomed nearly 5,000 visitors to Cleveland’s Great Lakes Science Center – Nasa Glenn Center – September 12 to 13. This immersive event brought NASA beyond its doors and in the community, offering the public a first-hand look at major missions and advanced technology.
Visitors have explored interactive demonstrations and exhibitions led by NASA Glenn experts, highlighting the innovations that support NASA Artemis missions and future exploration of March and beyond, including power developments, propulsion and communications.
The astronauts were on site during the discovery days to speak with students and guests – inspiring the next generation of explorers thanks to direct engagement and narration.
