NASA+ is Coming to Netflix This Summer

NASA announced its last plans on Monday to team up with a streaming service to bring the space closer to their home. From this summer, the live programming of NASA + will be available on Netflix.

The public will now have another option to broadcast rocket launches, spatial walks of astronauts, mission coverage and breathtaking views on earth from the international space station.

“The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls us to share our history of spatial exploration with the widest possible public,” said Rebecca Sirmons, Director General of NASA + at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. “Together, we are attached to a golden age of innovation and exploration – inspiring new generations – from the comfort of their sofa or in the palm of their hand of their phone.”

Thanks to this partnership, NASA’s work in science and exploration will become even more accessible, allowing the agency to increase engagement and inspire a global audience in a modern media landscape, where Netflix reaches a global audience of more than 700 million people.

The agency’s wider efforts include connection with as many people as possible via video, audio, social networks and live events. The objective is simple: to bring the excitation of discoveries, inventions and spatial exploration of the agency to people, wherever they are.

NASA + remains available for free, without advertisements, via the NASA application and on the agency’s website.

Programming details and additional schedules will be announced before launch.
