A Kentucky woman who was expecting medicine and other medical supplies in the mail instead received a box containing human body parts, authorities said Friday.

A package intended for “surgical training” was sent Wednesday to the wrong address in Hopkinsville — in southwest Kentucky, about 75 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, officials said.

“Yes, true story. She was waiting for medical supplies and found arms and fingers in the box,” Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel said in a statement to NBC News.

“The box was intended to be delivered for surgical training, but somehow it was delivered to his porch.”

Daniel lent a helping hand to this macabre mistake and took control of the wayward remains.

The woman finally received the correct package.

“We were able to contact the courier, who collected the package the next morning,” Daniel explained.

“I left the scene with the box and stored it in our morgue until it arrived. The resident of the home was also able to collect her medications and medical supplies the next day.”
