National Rifle Association Blasts DOJ’s Trial Balloon on Transgender Gun Ban – RedState
Regarding the questions of the second amendment, the National Rifle Association (NRA) is still the gorilla of 800 pounds from the pro-Gun Rights movement. Other groups take a more difficult line, but whenever an anti-army politician begins to work on his blowing hole on the “firearm lobby”, it is always the NRA that they evoke as their sequela ark. Complete disclosure: my wife and I have been members of the life of the NRA since the mid -90s.
The NRA opposed quite constantly to the deactivation of the rights of the second amendment of anyone, any group or any group, without regular procedure. Thus, when the Trump administration launched a test ball on the abolition of the rights of the second amendment to “transgender” individuals, the NRA quickly published a declaration opposing such a decision.

“The NRA supports the rights of the second amendment to all laws that respect the laws to buy and use firearms,” the statement said.
“The NRA does not support and does not support the proposals for policy which implement fire weapons prohibitions which arbitrarily exceed citizens respecting the laws of their rights of the second amendment without regular procedure.”

It’s as it should be. The regular procedure is essential. Rights do not belong to groups; They belong to individuals. Rights cannot be defined as applying to groups; There are no “transgender rights” or “immigrant rights” or “black rights”. There are only human rights, the rights with which the government is prohibited to interfere without regular procedure. These rights do not belong to groups. They certainly do not belong to the government. They belong to the people.
It is easy to look for a quick solution after a tragedy such as the shooting of the Annunciation school. And yes, there are clearly mental health problems involved here. Transgender people have recently committed an alarming number of these attacks, and this is a matter of concern. But we must not look at the level of withdrawing the constitutional rights of a group or an identifiable people because of the other members of this group have done.
The National Rifle Association and the owners of America firearms are correct. We should not speak of immediately stripping a constitution of a group. He should not speak of undressing anyone of a constitutional right without regular procedure.
