Here’s a look at some of the notable NBA rumors and reports ahead of the start of the 2025 NBA Draft:
Boston Celtics getting calls about trades for Jaylen Brown, Derrick White
After dealing Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis in recent days for salary cap purposes, the Boston Celtics might not be done restructuring their roster. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday night that the Celtics continue to receive trade calls from other teams concerning Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. The Celtics, according to Charania, have “high price thresholds” for both players and that their preference is to keep both players. But he didn’t rule out another deal occurring.
Paul George could be traded by Philadelphia 76ers
Paul George could be a candidate to be traded this offseason, Sport Illustrated NBA expert Chris Mannix said on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” on Tuesday. Mannix stated that he’s hearing the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to move back from the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and may attach George to facilitate the deal. George signed a 4-year, $212-million max contract with the Sixers last offseason, but played just 41 games last season due to injury.
Sacramento Kings will explore DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis trades
The Sacramento Kings are expected to explore trades involving stars DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis, according to a report from the Sacramento Bee. The Kings reacquired DeRozan at the NBA trade deadline this past season and there has been previously reported interest from the Miami Heat. Sabonis has three years and more than $140 million remaining on his contract. He indicated after this past season that he would like to remain with the Kings but wants to play for a contender.
