Trump Confirms Upcoming Meeting With Putin in Alaska

President Donald Trump confirmed that he and Russian president Vladimir Putin would meet in Alaska next Friday.
“The long-awaited meeting between myself, as president of the United States of America, and President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, will take place on Friday August 15, 2025 in the great state of Alaska,” Trump wrote in an article on Truth Social. “More details to follow. Thank you for your attention to this question! “
Trump’s position comes as “several sources familiar with the issue” told CBS News that Trump and Putin planned to meet in Alaska next week.
A “senior White House” said to the point of sale that the meeting of the meeting “is always fluid”, adding that the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky could possibly “end up being involved in one way or another”.
Breitbart News previously reported that Moscow had revealed that he expected Trump and Putin to meet in person to discuss the current war in Russia-Ukraine. A higher Kremlin assistant published a statement on which a place had been agreed:
A place in Trump-Putin talks was agreed, the best assistant of the Kremlin Yury Ushakov said on Thursday morning in a statement after what President Trump praised as “very productive” talks in Moscow on Wednesday.
Us Special sent to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff previously went to Russia, where he met Putin. The talks with Putin would have “something of a last bike attempt to find peace in Ukraine”.
Today’s talks are somewhat attempt to find peace in Ukraine. American and Russian negotiators met all year round and despite a lot of happy discussions from Moscow, any significant progress has failed to materialize so far. This resistance to the change of Russia had a notable effect on the American president Trump, who went from the initial optimism to the power to speak to be “annoyed” and to threaten the consequences.
The day after Witkoff’s meeting with Putin, the press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, shared a statement with Breitbart News, expressing that Trump was “open to meeting” with Putin and Zelensky.
“As President Trump said earlier in the day on Truth Social, great progress was made during the meeting of the special Witkoff envoy with President Putin,” Leavitt said in his statement. “The Russians expressed their desire to meet President Trump, and the president is open to meeting President Putin and President Zelensky.”
