Neck rash caused by ‘preventative skin treatment,’ Trump doc says

President Trump’s doctor downplayed a red rash on the commander in chief’s neck as a byproduct of “preventative skin treatment.”
The 79-year-old president raised further questions about his health Monday when he appeared at a Medal of Freedom event at the White House with a dark red rash on the right side of his neck, growing under his collar.

“President Trump uses a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House physician,” White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella said in a statement.
“The President has been using this treatment for a week, and the rash should last a few weeks.”
The statement did not say which skin condition requiring a prescription affects Trump, but causes could include eczema, an allergic reaction caused by foods or medications, shingles and others. The statement also does not specify whether the rash was caused by the prescription medication.
Trump has previously faced scrutiny for falling asleep during meetings, appearing with bruised hands often covered in makeup, unspecified medical imaging revelations and a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, which can cause swelling in the legs and ankles.
