New $3.5 million bond set for man accused of killing wife in Tipp City

The man accused of murdering his wife at their Tipp City home appeared in court in person for the first time Thursday.
Caleb Flynn appeared before the judge a month after investigators found his wife, Ashley, dead.
Flynn entered the quiet Miami County courtroom to face new charges and bail. He let his lawyer do most of the talking.

His lawyer, Patrick Mulligan, said: “This is his first time in a court case. I suggest that a reasonable bail be set in light of the fact that we have pleaded not guilty.”
On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted Flynn on several counts related to Ashley’s death. These charges include aggravated murder, assault, tampering with evidence and intimidation.
Judge Stacy Wall ordered bail at $3.5 million. However, the defense wanted the judge to say something else to Flynn regarding his children.
The judge had to remind Flynn what no contact means. “Let the court explain, no contact means no contact. That means in person, by text, by email, by a third party, your attorney or whoever. You cannot have contact with the victim or the representative of the minor children in this case,” Wall said.
Flynn’s preliminary session is scheduled for March 30 at 9 a.m. Although he didn’t say much, Flynn showed some emotion as he wiped his eyes before being taken back to the Miami County Jail.
As News Center 7 previously reported, Flynn was arrested last month in connection with the death of his wife, Ashley.
She was found dead on February 16 after police received a report of a burglary and shooting at her home on Cunningham Court.
Investigators told News Center 7 that only Ashley, her husband and their children were inside the home when she was shot.
Flynn was subsequently arrested on February 19.
If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
