Tired of seeing Low Battery pop-up on iPhone? Here are 5 simple display settings to improve your battery life

One of the best parts of using an iPhone is using its screen: Apple’s mobile displays are known for their sharpness, color accuracy, and, on ProMotion-enabled devices, smooth refresh rates.
However, powering this display can significantly drain battery life, especially if you’re outdoors or in another environment requiring high brightness.
Keep scrolling for five simple and easy display settings you can change to extend your iPhone’s battery life.
Lower the brightness
Lowering the brightness of your screen is a proven way to save battery on any phone, including iPhones. This may be a well-known tip, but it’s truer than ever, especially as peak brightness levels have continued to increase over the years.
Fortunately, it’s incredibly easy to turn down the brightness. Simply head to the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the phone screen and drag the slider with a sun icon to a lower level.
Your phone’s backlight is a significant power drain, so keeping the brightness low (but still visible enough to not strain your eyes) is a great way to save battery.
Turn off auto-brightness
Lowering your screen brightness can get annoying after a while, as your iPhone will automatically adjust the brightness based on the ambient light.
Luckily, you can go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size to find and turn off the automatic brightness switch, which prevents your iPhone from automatically changing brightness in response to ambient light levels.
This allows you to have much greater control over your brightness level and means you won’t automatically use more battery when using your phone in brighter rooms or outdoors.
Low power mode
optionsNaturally, Low Power Mode reduces the amount of power your iPhone uses – and it does so in part by changing the behavior of your screen. You will see pop-ups with the option to enable low power mode at 20%, 10%, and 5% battery life, or you can enable it manually in Control Center.
In addition to limiting your iPhone’s performance, Low Power Mode dims the screen, reduces the auto-brightness effect, turns off the screen after 30 seconds of inactivity, and, on ProMotion-enabled phones, limits the adaptive refresh rate to 1-60 Hz instead of 1-120 Hz.
For ProMotion-enabled iPhones, you can manually lock the refresh rate at 60Hz by going to Settings > Accessibility > Motion and selecting the Frame Rate option.
Reduce auto-lock time
You can also manually set the time for your iPhone to automatically go to sleep when left idle, ensuring that the screen doesn’t stay on and consume power if you put your phone down without pressing the lock button.
You can find this option in Settings > Display & Brightness, under the Auto-Lock menu. As with the brightness slider, this gives you more control over your iPhone’s behavior and allows for faster auto-lock without using low power mode (which also affects phone performance).
Dark mode
Dark mode inverts the iPhone’s usual bright color palette, replacing white and lighter colors with black and darker colors in most menus and UI elements by default.
This especially reduces power consumption on iPhones with OLED displays, which every iPhone since the iPhone
Those using older iPhones with LCD screens may not notice much difference in battery life when dark mode is enabled, because LCD screens illuminate all pixels, regardless of their color.
To enable dark mode, you can either head to the Control Center, hold down the brightness slider, and tap the dark mode icon that appears, or go to Settings > Display & Brightness and tap Dark in the Appearance tab.
