New York Giants' Bobby Okereke praises Shane Bowen as 'schematic mastermind'
New York Giants, Bobby Okereke, has decreased in the production of his first season under the defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. Its role was entirely different from that of the predecessor of Bowen, Wink Martindale.
Adding an insult injury, Okereke missed the last five games of the season with a disk hernia.
But Okereke is back and healthy in 2025, and could not be happier to play the game he loves.
"Great. Fantastic. I feel healthy," He told journalists on Saturday. "I am very lucky for Ronnie (Barnes), Aaron (Wellman), dabes taking care of myself, and I work with the management of the GPS load, but I feel good, I feel blessed, I play the game I love."
Perhaps more importantly, Okereke feels more comfortable entering his second season in the same system. It is also excited by several of the defensive additions, in particular the recruit Edge Rusher Abdul Carter.
And his thoughts on Bowen? A "brain."
"We had movement. Obviously, we have obtained new dynamic pieces at the front which can create ravages and create a reversal, but I have the impression that the guys understand the details of their position, the details of the work," Said Okereke.
"Shane is a schematic brain, so I have the impression that we cross these practices and that we understand his philosophical spirit on the way he wants guys to play defense and perform the techniques and fundamentals of each position, we are only improving."
If Okereke and the seven before can find a way to stop the race this season, Bowen apparently has unlimited resources to write games aimed at disturbing the pass, put pressure on the quarterrier and fill this rotation chest.
