New York man disappears on vacation with wife in Turks and Caicos

A man from New York disappeared in the Turks and Caicos, according to the authorities of the Caribbean Island.

Brian Tarrence, 51, from New York, was last seen in the Paradise Inn on June 25, according to a flyer of missing persons published by the Royal Turks police forces and Caicos last week.

A private investigator hired by the Tarrence family, which NBC confirmed with his wife, told NBC News that the security images he saw showed that Tarrence left his condo to the paradise Inn around 4:00 am on June 25 and headed for the city of Grace Bay.

The wife of Tarrence about a year slept when he left the condo, according to Carl Defazio, the private investigator. She told Defazio that he was unusual for him to be standing at this time.

“She went to bed early enough, 7 am,” he said. “She got up twice, checked her. He was watching television or something else. And then when she got up at 7:00 am, he left.”

The day before the disappearance of Tarrence, said Defazio, the pair made a boat trip.

Tarrence’s wife told the private investigator that her husband had acted “a little different from what he was normally,” Dafazio told NBC News, but said it could have been due to dehydration.

Local authorities did not respond to the request for comments from NBC News. A spokesperson for the State Department said that the agency was “aware of an American citizen who disappeared in the Turks and Caicos”.

“When an American citizen is missing, we work closely with local authorities when they put their research efforts, and we strive to keep the communication lines open with families, if necessary,” said the spokesperson. “The State Department has no higher priority than the security and security of American citizens abroad. We are ready to provide consular assistance to American citizens in need and their families.”

The private investigator added that the wife of Tarrence said that her speech was unusual at night before his disappearance. He noted that Tarrence had left the condo with his phone and that he has not made any credit card transaction since his disappearance.

Defazio added that the local police service was trying to access Tarrence’s telephone files, while her sister-in-law and mother were looking for him on the island.

Defazio said Tarrence’s wife had returned to the United States but was soon to return to the island.
