NFL won’t discipline Ravens’ Lamar Jackson for shoving Bills fans

Lamar Jackson will not be disciplined by the NFL for having pushed a fan of Buffalo Bills who slapped the helmets of the Baltimore Ravens of Ravens and his teammate Deandre Hopkins in a match Sunday evening in Orchard Park, NY, NY,
“The case was discussed by the club and there is no longer any action of the league,” the NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement sent by the Times on Thursday.
The Ravens did not immediately respond to a Times message, but a team spokesman told Pro Football Talk on Thursday that the situation was managed internally.
“The safety of our players is of the utmost importance,” said the spokesperson. “We spoke to Lamar, which includes the impact of the situation, of the incident.
“Although we will keep internal private questions, we have implemented additional security protocols – at home and on the road – to better protect our players and manage the negative interactions of fans in the future.”
Jackson and Hopkins celebrated with teammates after being connected for a reception of a touch of 29 yards at the end of the third quarter to give the Ravens an advance of 34-19. The players left the back of the goal area and found themselves near the stands, where a male fan stretched out and slapped Hopkins and Jackson on their helmets.
Jackson gave the fan a hard push with both hands. While the fan was ejected from the game, then prohibited indefinitely from all the NFL stadiums, Jackson was not disciplined during the match.
The MVP of the League twice then expressed its regret for its actions.
“I saw him slap D-Hop … and he slapped me and he speaks, so you know that I just forgot where I was a little,” Jackson told journalists after the defeat of the Ravens 41-40 against the Bills. “But you have to think in these situations. You have security. Let safety manage it. But I just let my emotions take the best of me. I hope it will not happen again. I learned from that.”
Addressing journalists the next day, Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed support for his quarter.
“Lamar is there to celebrate a touchdown with his teammates as you are supposed to do,” said Harbaugh. “You talk about celebration and we want our guys to celebrate each other. This is the idea. I guess I did not know that you are not allowed to go near the stands to do it without being attacked by a fan. …
“It is regrettable that you are even in this situation. I don’t know how to react to us at that time. But it’s a surprise when it happens at that time, I think, for anyone. »»
