Nicolas Batum poised to return to Clippers on a two-year deal

Nicolas Batum plans to sign with the Clippers again on a two -year contract for $ 11.5 million with a team option for the second season, according to people with unauthorized negotiations to discuss it publicly.

Batum, 36, had refused his option of $ 4.9 million with the Clippers for next season who made him a free agent without restriction, but he always intended to return to the organization which, according to him, saved his career.

Considered one of the best clippers players and the presence of veterans in the locker room, Batum has an average of 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists last season. He pulled 43.7% on the field, 43.3% of the three -point range and played in 78 regular season games.

After the Clippers were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs in May, Batum was invited to return to the team.
