Nicole Kidman Perfects the Pantsless Rom-Com Uniform for Her First Galentine’s Day Post-Divorce
Leave it to Nicole Kidman to create such a chic bachelorette look on Valentine’s Day.
Okay, Kidman technically shared her last Instagram post that day Before Valentine’s Day in honor of Valentine’s Day, the friend-centered holiday invented by Parks and Recreation Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) in the second season of the NBC sitcom. But my point still stands: Kidman made a solo night seductive and inviting with the striking combination of gold lighting and the ultimate romantic comedy uniform: the boyfriend shirt.
In the post shared on February 13, Kidman wished her followers a happy Galentine’s Day in a pink pinstriped pajama top that was inspired by a men’s Oxford shirt. Sitting in bed with her legs crossed, you’d think she was getting ready for a good night’s sleep, were it not for her bright pink pout and smoky eyeliner. Then again, I’ve definitely seen rom-com leads “wake up” with bolder makeup looks.
This February marks Kidman’s first Galentine’s And Valentine’s Day since her split from Keith Urban. After 19 years of marriage, the A-list couple separated in September 2025 and finalized their divorce in January of this year. “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it’s not going in that direction?” Kidman asked in a recent Vogue cover interview that was done just before the news went public.
But far from throwing chocolates at your TV like Elle Woods in Legally blondeNicole Kidman looks just as carefree and in love with life as any romantic lead right before the third act breaks and the big part of the events unfolds. You know, when they inexplicably put on their boyfriend’s crisp shirt instead of a much more comfortable band t-shirt they’re probably lying around.
