Niners pull out the win in back-and-forth game against Rams

Inglewood, California – entering Thursday evening’s match against the Los Angeles Rams, the 49ers of San Francisco had no receiver or tight ends on the list that caught a pass for them in 2024.

There was no George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall or Jauan Jennings available. Nor did they have the quarter-back that had started Brock Purdy. On paper, all about Thursday evening shouted rams in a leak.

Everything, that is to say, except the dashboard. The Niners proposed their most casual performance of the first five weeks, beating the RAMs 26-23 and exercising their demand for first place in the NFC West at 4-1 and 3-0 in the division.

As in their three other victories, the Niners had several surprise heroes. This time, it was the defensive platform recruited Alfred Collins forcing and recovering an escape from its own line of regulatory goal, with a lot of quarterrière Mac Jones and the recipient Kendrick Bourne and the botter Eddy Piñeiro mixed.

In the process, the team of coach Kyle Shanahan has provided many evidence that it is a group made good things. With a few additional days to rest, the Niners slate is not easier from here at Tampa Bay during week 6.

But additional time should help the team become relatively healthy, and Thursday’s victory offers the hope that it is a season with a lot of potential.

San Francisco 49ers (4-1)

Statistics namely: The 49ers did not record a game on Thursday, which makes them their 12th A row game without a dating from last season – the longest in the history of the NFL. Jones finished 33 out of 49 for 342 yards with two affected and no interception. It remains to be seen when Brock Purdy returns from his injury to the toe, but the niners are in good hands in the meantime.

Los Angeles Rams (3-2)

This is only five weeks in the season, but the Rams have missed the opportunity to take the lead – at least temporarily – in a competitive NFC West.
