‘No Greater Genius Than Him in Marketing’

Actor Josh Brolin says he’s not much worried about President Donald Trump refusing to leave office in 2029 and insists the president is a “marketing genius,” all based on his friendship with Trump before the presidency.

Talk to The Independent, Brolin said he felt differently about Trump than many others in Hollywood, and that’s because he had “been a friend” of Trump before the New York real estate mogul first ran for president.

“I’m not afraid of Trump, because even though he says he’ll stay forever, it’s just not going to happen,” Brolin told the newspaper. “And if that’s the case, then I’ll take care of this moment. But having been a friend of Trump before he was president, I know another guy.”

Brolin noted that he met Trump in 2010, when the future president was preparing to film a cameo in the Oliver Stone film. Wall Street: money never sleeps. While Trump was on set, his role was ultimately dropped and did not appear in the final cut of the film.

THE Weapons The star said he admired Trump’s construction prowess during his famous real estate career. He noted that Trump’s $400 million hotel project “in the middle of a deserted city in the late ’70s — that interests me.”

But he now believes that Trump has gone too far in his quest for power, he adds. “Now it is an absolute power, it is not regulated. »

Despite this, Brolin said he thought Trump showed a lot of genius.

The actor insisted that “there is no greater genius than him in marketing – he takes the weaknesses of the general population and fills them. And that’s why I think a lot of people feel they have a mascot in him.”

He concluded by adding, “I think it’s much less about Trump and more about the general population and their need for validation.” »

The actor also warned people against assuming that his latest role as Monsignor Wicks, who preaches hatred as religious piety, is influenced by Trump. Brolin plays Wicks in the latest Glass onion series entry titled Wake up dead manbut the character spewing hatred has nothing to do with Trump, Brolin says.

“I could make something up and say this was rooted in some sort of Trumpian greed,” but that simply wasn’t the case, Brolin said. He added that once “Wicks gains a sense of power, then there are no boundaries,” he said.
