Boston Mayor Wu Claims ‘Every Single Human’ on Earth Has ‘Legal Right’ to Come to the U.S.

Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston, Massachusetts, went viral for declaring that every human being on earth has a “legal right” to come to the United States.
Wu’s comments have resurfaced and are once again drawing thousands of comments from outraged Americans.
In a video clip from a March interview, Wu is seen saying, “Every human being has the legal right to come to the United States and seek refuge here. »
Of course, federal immigration law dictates that hopeful immigrants cannot simply arrive on American shores, but must apply for a visa or asylum while still in their own country (or outside the United States), then go through applications and interviews before being allowed to come to the United States.
The far-left mayor’s comments sparked a wide range of responses from members of Congress, conservatives and tens of thousands of ordinary Americans.
Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill, for his part, tore into Democrats, saying: “Democrats demand endless immigration, then endless welfare – all at the expense of Americans. »
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee also criticized Wu, writing: “No… That’s not how this whole thing works… It never has been… It never will be… Bad things happen when we pretend otherwise.” »
In a second post, Lee wrote“The Quiet Out Loud Part: The whole world has more right to America than Americans do.”
Many others also intervened:
Michelle Wu is the same Boston mayor who sponsored a “non-white” Christmas party at City Hall after taking office in 2023.
The notice of meeting was sent to all town hall employees. Wu then issued a strange apology and said the invitation was supposed to have been sent only to “elected officials of color” and not to everyone.
As cities double down on migrants instead of city reform, they lose more middle-class Americans, Michael Lind wrote in an article for Compact magazine in September 2023.
“A Ponzi scheme on international migration is the only thing that avoids a catastrophic demographic spiral for populations. [badly managed cities]“Only a steady influx of low-wage international immigration morphine and subsidies from taxpayers who live elsewhere keep these legacy cities from shrinking to more sustainable dimensions, like Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cleveland, and St. Louis after World War II,” he wrote.
