Satellite communications are extremely limited in relation to the connection of a telephone to a typical cellular or Wi-Fi network. The applications must be specifically modified to work with a small data flow, which is why the service was available for the first time only for the application of integrated messages and for the sharing of location.

T -Mobile said its engineering relationships with Google and Apple have enabled this initial application of the application, starting with Pixel 10 phones.
