NYC’s Socialist Mayoral Candidate Proposes Blatantly Racist Scheme

Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, is not the brightest bulb.

“Shift the tax burn from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods,” reads a proposal linked on Mamdani’s website. (RELATED: Surrendering Blue Cities Isn’t Common Sense – It’s A Fatal Error)

Race-based punitive taxes would be an offense coming from anyone. But Mamdani is not even a native New Yorker, much less a native American. Born in Uganda, the candidate moved to NYC with his family at the age of seven. He became a U.S. citizen less than a decade ago – at which point he was already a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Mamdani has gloated about representing “the last majority white Assembly District in Queens” in 2021. A quick search through his X profile returns an abundance of anti-white statements.

“Our Democratic Party is run by 3 old white men on Long Island,” he wrote in 2020, complaining of the men representing Queens county.

“That was a moment of political transformation of my life: Here I was, a Muslim South Asian New Yorker who had long known this city was my home but hadn’t known if my ideas of this city had a home,” Mamdani said of his foray into politics in 2017, according to a profile in New York Magazine.

Yes, Mamdani has the gall to move to another country, run for major political office, and organize a campaign promising to disenfranchise that country’s largest racial bloc. All the while framing himself as a victim.

Beyond reeking of ethnonarcissistic resentment, Mamdani’s tax scheme is just dumb. Spelling out your anti-white grievance in plain terms seems an incitement to legal action. Particularly in light of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that members from a majority group do not shoulder an additional burden of proof in alleging discrimination. Or maybe I underestimate Mamdani’s confidence in the judiciary. Perhaps he’s so certain of the permissibility of anti-white prejudice that he doesn’t mind risking a lawsuit. His tax scheme is long in the making.

“An exemption for familial wealth systematically privileges white candidates,” he claimed on social media in 2021. “Eliminating this is a step towards reckoning with the racist history of generational wealth.” Read: transferring wealth to those deemed more deserving, i.e., those who are not white.

Mamdani is quick to call out perceived racist slights against non-whites. Including himself.

Andrew Cuomo’s “SuperPAC just sent out a mailer that artificially lengthened and darkened my beard,” Mamdani claimed in a social media post on June 12. “This is blatant Islamophobia – the kind of racism that explains why MAGA billionaires support his campaign.”

Mamdani makes a fairly milquetoast Muslim. His true religious affiliation is to what’s colloquially known as “woke” – a bundle of assumptions premised on the unfalsifiable belief that “-isms” and “phobias” are the cause of all disparity. He’s willing to go to great measures to remedy that perceived injustice. Least of all, dispossessing white Americans.
