Covington police said they received reports of a suspicious person matching Shane’s description on Pennington Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police searched the area for an hour, but nothing was revealed.

Around 1 a.m., another homeowner on Green Acres Court reported Shane knocking on his door. She gave police Ring camera footage that showed Shane wearing a gray hoodie. Investigators confirmed it was Shane.

The Rockdale K-9 unit responded to the scene and began tracking. Other homeowners on Ford Street and Thrash Street reported seeing Shane.

K-9 units began a second trail on Thrash Street, which led them to a vacant house at 9102 Morris Drive. Investigators found a broken window and discovered Shane hiding inside.
