NYPD shares sketch of missing autistic Brooklyn boy, 11, whose mom denies she has son
The police released a sketch on Saturday from an 11 -year -old autistic Brooklyn boy who disappeared – whose mother denied the police that she had a son – in the hope that someone recognizes him.
Jacob Pritchett, 11, would have been seen for the last time by the police residing with his mother inside their home near the east of New York and Howard Aves. in Brownsville. The young person is said by non -verbal police and unable to provide identification information.
Described as having an average complexion, brown eyes and black hair, Jacob may have failed for more than a month and perhaps for as long as mid-August, the cops and a police source knowing the case said.
When asked why the police provided a sketch rather than a photo of the boy, a spokesperson for the department said: “That’s all we have at the moment. What we have, we came out. ”
It was not immediately clear when Jacob was seen for the last time, although the neighbors told agents who had not seen the child for at least six weeks, perhaps eight, police sources said.
“We relax outside and see the boy in the window,” said neighbor Evelyn Rolon, 49. “He had a small car with which he played. He never got out. He did not go to school.”
“It’s horrible,” she said about the missing boy.
The city’s administration for children’s services first had a wind of the child who disappeared on September 25, when they received a telephone call on a state hotline from a person concerned with the well-being of the boy, police sources said.
ACS investigators then visited the house on the same day, but the mother refused to let them in. Once the cops were called to the scene, the mother allowed the officers and investigators inside, but said that she could not have children physically and had no children.
ACS investigators returned to the apartment at 1:33 p.m. last Wednesday, accompanied by the police again.
When she opened the door, the mother repeated that she had no children, even if the investigators confirmed that she had done so. She let the police enter the apartment, but Jacob was not found, said a police source.
While the cops threw the building carefully, as well as nearby garbage skips – even recruiting nypd k9 police dogs to help the excavation – the police took the mother to the 73rd precinct Stationhouse. She was finally taken by doctors to Brookdale University Hospital for evaluation.
A green police seal was then placed on the door of the apartment where Jacob and his mother lived.
