Jasmine Crockett Badly Misfires Attacking Lee Zeldin over ‘Jeffrey Epstein’
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), a bona fide member of “The Squad,” misfired in attempting to attack EPA chief Lee Zeldin for receiving money from one “Jeffrey Epstein” — a New York doctor, not the billionaire convicted sex offender who committed suicide.
Crockett claimed Zeldin received money from Jeffrey Epstein while debating a resolution to censure Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D) for her past relationship with Epstein.

According to the latest reports from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Zeldin did in fact receive a campaign donation from Jeffrey Epstein – but not the one Epstein Crockett was referring to.
“Yes, Crockett, a doctor named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein (who is a totally different person than the other Jeffrey Epstein) donated to a previous campaign of mine,” Zeldin replied to X.
“NO FREAKIN RELATIONSHIP, YOU GENIUS!” he added.

As Breitbart News reported this week, newly released documents revealed that Epstein sent Plaskett text messages complimenting her on her interrogation with former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen:
Thousands of pages of emails, texts and other documents from Epstein’s estate were released last Wednesday by the House Oversight Committee, revealing shocking communication between the convicted predator and Del. Stacey Plaskett (Democrat) of the U.S. Virgin Islands as she prepared to interview Michael Cohen, the former lawyer turned Trump critic.
Epstein appeared to watch the congressional hearing in real time, texting Plaskett to tell her she looked “great” and informing her that Cohen was referring to former Trump aide Rhona Graff as he testified against his former boss.
Given Plaskett’s friendly responses, the texts revealed that the two maintained a cordial friendship despite him being a convicted sex offender. On Tuesday, the House Freedom Caucus led a vote to remove Plaskett from his role in the House Democratic Caucus. All Democrats voted against the censure, including three Republicans. vote no and three other voters present. He failed by 209 votes to 214.
The censure also sought to remove Plaskett from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which oversees the FBI and CIA and “regularly receives classified briefings on national security matters,” according to Fox News.
“The House of Representatives has a responsibility and a duty to protect the integrity of this institution. And what we are learning from the documents released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein is nothing short of alarming,” said Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), who introduced the censure.
“These documents show that Delegate Stacey Plaskett, a sitting member of Congress, coordinated her questioning in a formal oversight hearing with a man who was a convicted sex offender, a man whose crimes against minors shocked the nation,” he added.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) countered that the censorship was “yet another pathetic attempt to distract from the fact that the president’s name already appeared more than a thousand times in the small fraction of documents released about Epstein,” adding that Epstein was a “constituent” of Plaskett due to his primary residence in the Virgin Islands.
“Without even going to the ethics committee, let alone a court, they want to put her on trial for some charges based on a newspaper article, that she did something legal – no matter how ill-advised – she received a phone call from one of her constituents,” Raskin said.
“Where is the ethical transgression? Where is the legal transgression? Are you saying that anyone on your side of the aisle who had a phone call with Jeffrey Epstein should be censored? he added.
