Oh Boy—Dylan Mulvaney Set to Make Broadway Debut as Anne Boleyn in Women’s History Musical ‘SIX’ – RedState

Dylan Mulvaney, a “transgender influencer” famous for sparking the massive Bud Light boycott in 2023 that plummeted sales and alienated millions of customers, is now set to make her Broadway debut as Anne Boleyn in the hit feminist musical “SIX.”

It’s a good reminder that this type of woke-mind virus, largely dismissed during the previous national election cycle, is still making the rounds in the entertainment world.

I mean, seriously. Not only will Mulvaney play an important role in a musical about women in history, but he will take that role away from a real women. This is progress for women… or something.

It’s more about making fun of women.

The official X account for “Six” announced the news on Friday with a cheeky reference to Boleyn’s beheading.

“We’re losing our minds introducing your new Anne Boleyn! » they wrote. “Show some royal love to Queen Dylan Mulvaney, who will join the cast of #SIXBroadway 5.0 as Anne Boleyn beginning February 16!”

A little history on “Six”: The Tony-winning show reimagines Henry VIII’s six wives as a modern pop girl group. Why is anyone’s guess. It’s like “Hamilton”, but much worse, which would be hard to do.

The musical has been championed as “girl power of the 21st century.” It is, to a very specific degree, about women in history.

Yet here is a biological male who plays one of the major roles. To represent one of the most tragically executed queens in English history. Nothing screams authentic female empowerment like portraying Dylan Mulvaney as a woman who was executed because her husband simply didn’t want to be married to her anymore.

But that’s probably not much of a surprise, given that “Six” was co-created by Toby Marlow, described as the “first openly non-binary Tony Award winner.” Anything.

Mulvaney, who has more than 9 million followers on TikTok, appeared in two videos featuring Bud Light about three years ago. To say it didn’t go very well would be an understatement.

The videos received significant public backlash, and consumers expressed displeasure with the company’s shift toward a woke sales pitch, taking their hard-earned money elsewhere.

The result? Bud Light sales fell 25 to 30 percent during peak months for a significant period after the controversial videos surfaced. By some measures, they are still struggling to recover from the fallout.

“The Bud Light Dylan Mulvaney disaster will always be viewed historically as a benchmark for brand marketing failure,” says RedState’s Brad Slager.

Will fans of Broadway musicals express their disdain by taking their ticket money elsewhere? I suspect that the element that attends a musical like “Six” will not be as influenced or dismayed.
