Ohio man arrested for 10th OVI offense

A Cincinnati man was recently arrested for his 10th OVI offense.

Shortly before midnight on January 30, an Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) trooper was patrolling in Cincinnati when he spotted a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe in the left turn lane next to his patrol vehicle.

The Tahoe first stopped, then drove through the intersection while the light was still red, then committed multiple lane violations, according to OSHP.

The trooper turned on his dome lights and stopped the Tahoe.

During the traffic stop, the driver, Timothy Lyles, 50, displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for OVI.

OSHP said Lyles has nine prior OVI convictions, including a 2012 felony OVI conviction.

“Together with the prior felony OVI conviction, this arrest is subsequently a second felony OVI offense; a felony of the 3rd degree,” OSHP said in a statement.

He was charged with traffic light – red light, operating a vehicle under an OVI suspension, operating a vehicle with an open container of an alcoholic beverage and OVI.

Lyles is booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center.
