Ohio State and Michigan are set to write another chapter in their rivalry when they face off Saturday at noon ET at Michigan Stadium, with the game airing on FOX.

Last season, the game didn’t have the highest stakes because Michigan entered the game down just 6-5, but it became a classic. Michigan upset Ohio State 13-10, then the two teams scuffled after the game when Michigan players attempted to plant their flag on the Buckeyes’ field.

Ohio State’s loss nearly eliminated the team from the College Football Playoff. Instead, Ohio State became a lower seed and won it all.

However, the Buckeyes will arrive in Ann Arbor with revenge on their minds. Ohio State, after winning eight straight against Michigan from 2012-2019, has lost its last four games against the Wolverines.

In the rivalry’s 128th year, the first recorded game between the teams took place in October 1897, in a game won by Michigan, and the stakes couldn’t be much higher.

The No. 1 Buckeyes are 11-0, but a loss to Michigan would eliminate them from the Big Ten championship game and drop them further down the rankings, and give them their first five-game losing streak to the Wolverines since the 1920s.

Michigan enters the game ranked 15th, and a win against the Buckeyes would propel them to the College Football Playoff and possibly give them a chance at the Big Ten championship game. Michigan would only be able to make the championship game if it won and Oregon lost to Washington.

A loss to Ohio State would eliminate Michigan from the College Football Playoff for a second straight season.

Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin will look to continue his strong play in his first career game against Michigan. The sophomore has completed 79.4 percent of his passes for 2,832 yards with 27 touchdowns and four interceptions in 11 games this season.

Michigan leads the all-time series 62-51-6 against Ohio State.
