18-year-old high school student shot, killed by ATF agent in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania

An 18 -year -old high school student who was killed by an agent from the alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives on Thursday evening died.
Allegheny’s County Legalist’s office said Kendric Curtis, 18, died at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh shortly after 3 am on Friday.
The shooting occurred on Waugaman Street at Linmar Terrace Housing Complex around 6:20 p.m. Thursday.
The 18 -year -old was armed at the time of the shooting, a FBI spokesperson told Kdka-TV Friday.
In a statement Thursday evening, Pennsylvania state police said the ATF and FBI agents “working in a joint investigation” were involved in the shooting. It was not immediately clear why the agencies were in Aliquippa, and more details surrounding the shooting were not immediately published by the authorities.
However, Friday morning, an FBI spokesperson said Kdka-tv that Curtis was armed at the time of filming.
Aliquiippa mayor, Dwan B. Walker, said Curtis was a high school student AliquiPpa. Friday, a team of support for trauma will be on site at the Junior / Senior high school when students arrive and the district will have resources throughout the day if necessary for students.
A neighbor described an emotional scene and tense in the county of Beaver, underlined by a great police presence.
A photo of the scene showed at least nine police vehicles near the place where the shooting occurred. Witnesses said they had heard several shots.

“We are frustrated because we don’t want it to be a new normal,” said Sandra Pope, the resident.
Police of the state of Pennsylvania investigate the shooting. ATF said in a statement that it “supported” the investigation “if necessary”.
“We ask for clarity and calm,” said Walker. “We ask people to search their inner ego, to take a deep inspiration, to take all the facts before taking the judgment and punishing quickly.”
Walker added that he prayed for the victim and his family.

In a letter sent to parents and families, the Superintendent of the Aliquiippa school district, Dr. Phillip K. Woods, published a statement concerning the shooting.
“As a district, we are in mourning together. The loss of a classmate, a student and a friend is difficult for everyone, in particular our children,” said the letter. “I ask our staff, our parents and the members of the community to rally to our students during this period of sorrow. Please help them cross their fears, their concerns and their emotions. Encourage them to rely on, to seek support if necessary and to continue to advance in faith, strength and unity.”
The letter has reaffirmed that the Aliquiippa school district will have support and advisory staff for students and staff who may need it.
