Democrat Histrionics Over Treasury Sec. Bessent’s Social Security Comment Leaves Them With Egg on Faces – RedState
It is incredible to see how passionately the Leftists are – and how much – Laitists often go into Freak Out mode on relatively minor declarations or events. (Just see how many agonized are on an announcement of simple blue jeans that presented an attractive model – you think it was an international crisis.)
In their latest hysteria, the usual suspects in the corrupt media and the Democratic Party are all told a commentary the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during a Breitbart news event on Wednesday concerning Social Security. In a word, he said that new children’s savings accounts from the Trump administration planned in the “Big Beautiful Bill” could be an “effective back door to privatize social security”.
Cue the hysteria!
It is almost as if a memo had left the DNC to the media and the left commander to continue to say “the calm part aloud” again and again. There were countless posts with almost exactly the same wording, therefore naturally, the American teachers’ federation was one of the many who felt that they had to jump (although I was not sure of what all this has to do with education or teaching):

The only little problem with their little story of fear? This is not what he meant, and they know it, as Breitbart explained.
Of course, all of this was an intentional bad reading of Bessent’s comment. Trump accounts are not intended to replace social security but to complete it. They make social security less significant because they will increase the amount of wealth available for retirees, increasing the economy security Americans.
The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, still pulverized the hot plug of the left:
“What the secretary of the Treasury said, and what this administration believes is that these Trump newborns accounts – which is an incredibly creative and formidable provision which was in the same major bill for newborns, and families and future generations of the Americans – will help to complete, not to substitute, social security,” said Leavitt on the briefing on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bessent himself had clarified his declaration after the meeting, but that was not enough to stop the screams on the left:

Look, I understand. Democrats are in total disarray, the media are in depression, and they are desperate to find a problem – a problem – to resume any momentum and to ensure that their base wakes up. But they will have to do much better than that, because this time (like so many others), they look like disadvantaged hysterics which continue to shout that the sky falls.
