The iPhone Fold is again rumored to be launching alongside the iPhone 18 Pro – but Apple’s iPhone schedule is set to be different this year

- Another 2026 iPhone rumor has emerged
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold could launch together
- They will probably debut in September
Apple is going to be busy launching several contenders for our guide to the best iPhones this year, and a new leak indicates something we’ve already heard about the 2026 calendar: that the foldable iPhone is going to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.
This comes from tipster Momentary Digital (via Wccftech), who claims that mass production of both phones will begin around July, with a big reveal then likely planned for September – the traditional iPhone launch month.
We should see the iPhone 18 Pro Max at the same launch event, but it doesn’t look like the handsets will be joined by the standard iPhone 18. This model has been pushed back to early 2027, according to reports.
It’s unclear why Apple is shaking up its standard launch schedule — and none of it has been officially confirmed yet — but it’s a safe bet that Apple thinks it can sell more iPhones overall by splitting up launches this way.
iPhones for everyone
Let’s not forget the iPhone 17e, the successor to the iPhone 16e, which we expect to arrive shortly. This should give more budget-conscious Apple fans an attractive alternative to the flagship handsets in the range.
As for the iPhone Fold, such a device has been rumored for years, but given the increasing frequency of rumors and reports about it, it looks like this is the year Apple finally decides to release a foldable phone.
Discussions surrounding the gadget suggest that Apple has worked hard to make the screen crease as invisible as possible, and we can expect a phone that is both eye-catching and powerful – and, no doubt, very expensive.
There have also been many rumors surrounding the iPhone 18 Pro, including that it could sport a smaller dynamic island. Like every year, there will undoubtedly be an improvement in the performance of the internal chipset.
