Over 40 Million AI Videos Have Been Made With Google Veo 3 Since May: How My Expert Testing Went

Google’s most advanced IA video model continues to be dominant. Veo 3 gave splashes when it was released at Google I / O in May, with a large audible difference compared to other AI videos generators: it can create sound, synchronized with the action of a scene. And people have benefited – more than 40 million VEO 3 videos have been created in the past seven weeks, through Gemini and its new tool focused on the filmmaker called Flow, said Google in a blog post on Thursday.
Upgrades like those also announced Thursday that the number will probably only increase. Google has a new photo-video capacity via the Gemini application. With the functionality, you can download a photo you have taken, or the one you have generated via Imagen, and Veo 3 will animate it. In your prompt, you can describe the audio you want in the video, such as dialogue. The video-video capacity now takes place on the web and throughout the week on mobile.
Even before these updates, VEO 3 users quickly shared their impressive videos online. I spend a lot of time testing and examining AI, especially the generators of images and videos, and I saw enough slope and hallucinations to approach all this with skepticism. But after seeing the videos, I knew I had to dive and put Veo 3 to the test.
Without spoiling anything, I moved away from Veo who felt that it was the next natural step for Google, with a particular feature giving the company a advantage that could make it a more serious competitor in the creative space of AI. But there are serious limits and troubles that I hope to address soon. Here’s how my experience has happened and what you need to know.
VEO 3 Availability, pricing and privacy
There are different ways to access Veo 3. Unfortunately, all will force you to pay in one way or another. VEO 3 is currently available via Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra, Flow and Google Vertex.
Google recently expanded access to a version of Veo 3 (Veo 3 Fast) to its $ 20 per month plan, Google AI Pro. Pro users have limited access to Veo 3, which is good if you just want to play with it. To obtain full access, you will need Google AI Ultra – the most recent and most expensive level at $ 250 per month. (It is currently half reduced for $ 125 per month for three months.) The flow is a new AI tool focused on Google cinema, available for Pro and Ultra subscribers. Vertex is the AI Enterprise platform of Google, and you will know if you have access to it.
Google Gemini Privacy Policy indicates that the company can collect your information to improve its technologies, which is why it recommends that it does not share any confidential information with Gemini. You also accept the prohibited use of Google, which prohibits the creation of abusive or illegal content.
My wild ride with Veo 3
The most impressive thing about Veo 3 is its new audio generation capacities. You don’t have to say to Gemini in your prompt you want sound; He will add it automatically. This is a first among competitors like Sora of Openai and Adobe d’Adobe and it certainly gives Google a huge advantage.
Although audio Ai is a nice advantage, it is not perfect. If you know the somewhat clumsy nature of music and dialogue generated by AI, you can identify it immediately. But there were times when he was more naturally flowing. The metal sounds and grunts faced in my extraterrestrial combat scene were perfectly timed at their attacks, which would have been difficult to add later. But dinosaurs’ extraterrestrials also literally say “roar” and “whistling” instead of making these noises.
My kayaker’s paddle was almost matched with the sound of sliding water. The atmosphere of nature in this video was particularly charming and added a layer of depth that failed in the AI videos.
To take up a challenge in Veo, I wanted to ride the sound in this beach festival scene. What I got was good, but nothing stops. My revelers on Dream Beach’s joy fire did not look like any party to which I went, but also points to be the first and relatively without problem.
Of course, while the audio was good, it does not remove strange eccentricities which continue to seduce the generators of AI. I met a few hiccups, mainly with the faces of people, one thing notoriously difficult to imitate AI. But compared to the clearly obvious errors that I encountered with Veo 2, the new generation seems to have made real improvements as Google claimed.
I meet a lot of hallucinations when I test generators of images and videos AI, so the first thing I do is to find if a service gives me the opportunity to modify it. VEO 3 offers none of these elements, which is a disappointment. It is certainly something that will make it less useful for professional creators, which are used to finer publishing tools and must make specific adjustments for their projects. You can send a tracking prompt requiring specific changes. For example, I asked Veo to change the angle in the previous video so that I can see his face, which the program has managed.
With Veo 3, you will usually have to wait 3 to 5 minutes for a new video published to load. Veo 3 has the longest generation time of any IA video generator that I tested. But adding audio to videos excuses the longer waiting time in my eyes.
The worst part of Veo 3 is the speed with which I reached my daily generation limit. After only five videos, I was excluded for an entire 24 -hour period – something that really bored me and made it much more difficult to assess. Google’s vice-president of Gemini and Google Labs, Josh Woodward, said in an article on X / Twitter that ultra subscribers like me have the greatest number of generations that are reset daily, in the ordinary and flow app. And for me, this limitation in Gemini was five videos. The flow limit is 125, according to Woodward.
I contacted Google to clarify the daily limit for ultra users who create via Gemini that Woodward mentions. Here is the answer: “Google AI Ultra Subscribed gets the highest level of access to Veo 3, our model of peak videos generation, which they can use in the Gemini and Flow application, our new IA cinema tool.”
The limits are another sign that it is not a tool intended for professional creation and iterative publishing. You have to spend time making your prompt in a thoughtful way and if Google decreases a face or problems, you are likely to lack generics quickly and find yourself without luck. Veo 3 is better suited to AI lovers who want to plunge their toes into the creation of videos, and not creators experimenting with AI.
Does Veo 3 are worth the cost?
After a disappointing experience with Veo 2, I had reservations about what to expect in the utility and precision of Veo 3. But the new model was impressive, the audio in particular, even if it is still lacking in key features.
Let me be clear: there is no rational reason to spend hundreds of dollars on a Google Ai Ultra plan only to use VEO 3. If you want to have fun, I recommend that you start with the cheap Google AI Pro plan, or use Veo 2 for hundreds less per month. Ultra Plan offers other features, such as Premium Youtube, 30 space teraoctes and access to new Gemini models. So if you want one of these things, then, yes, pay and go play with Veo 3. But it is not worth it.
Veo 3 is not the revolutionary upgrade that these publications on social networks could make you believe. This is the next generation, better than the Veo 2 of last month, and it shows a real promise in future video efforts of Google AI. But be ready to pay if you want to try it.
