An innocent bystander who had just bought lunch and was on her way to work was shot and killed when several men jumped out an SUV and started shooting in West Philadelphia, police say.

Imani Ringgold, 20, died in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity, Philadelphia police said Friday.

Four suspects are being sought, and police have identified two of them as Mustafa King, 26, and Zarie Manning, 21.

The shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 5900 block of Market Street.

According to police, surveillance video shows several people getting out of a dark-colored SUV and opening fire.

Ringgold was reportedly walking along Market Street when she was shot multiple times.

Police say Ringgold happened upon the shooting as it unfolded, and say it’s likely she was mistaken for someone within the intended group.

The suspects got back in the SUV and fled eastbound on Market Street.

Two other people were wounded in the shooting. They were last reported to be in stable condition.

As with all Philadelphia homicides, a $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information can call or text Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online.
