Oxford Union Slams Prez Elect Toasting Kirk Killing
The Oxford Union, the debate society of the historic and historic university has moved away from its own elected president who would have written “Let’s Fuck Go” in response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
The current administration of the Oxford Union, the world renowned forum founded in 1823 for a debate which attracted presidents, the prime ministers and the great thinkers, condemned its own president elected after being exposed as having celebrated the murder of the American political activist Charlie Kirk.
George Abaraonye wrote, he is indicated by The daily telegraph“Charlie Kirk was shot, let’s go” and “Charlie Kirk was fired with Loool”. The document indicates that at least one of the messages was deleted later.
Surprisingly, these comments claimed came only a few months after Abaraonye was on the Kirk distribution box, the debateing face to face when the activist was a guest lecturer in the Union in June. The two men debated masculinity, with a to-and-fro on what causes high levels of male suicide in Western countries. Kirk congratulated Abaraonye for posing “a very good faith” during their interaction.
Responding to the unemployed comments on the assassination of Kirk in Utah, the outgoing management of the Oxford Union stressed that they were in no way affiliated in Abaraonye and that the Union as it currently constituted its remarks.
They declared in a press release: “The Oxford Union would like to condemn unequivocally the words and the reported feelings expressed by the elected president, George Abaraonye, with regard to the death of Charlie Kirk.”
They continued: “The Union of Oxford is opposed to all forms of political violence and strongly resists our commitment to freedom of expression and a considerate debate. We would like to reiterate that our condolences reside with Charlie Kirk’s family ”.
Abaraonye won the union elections to be his next president earlier this year. A little ironically, interviewed by Oxford Student Journal Goat Before the elections, he expressed one of his motivations to present himself to his functions that the organization had seen “the debates being derailed, the titles in a spiral and that the members feel pushed or dangerous”. He said he wanted to “reconstruct confidence, restore balance and bring some joy back to this space … We seem to focus on quarrels among hacks”.
Asked which three guests would bring in the Union for the debates, Abaraonye appointed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, British rapper Daveand LeBron James.
