A senior Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official demanded the abolition of YouTube videos of himself who were published by a doctor and writer who criticized medical disinformation and public health officials in the Trump administration, according to a YouTube opinion that was seen by the goalkeeper.

Jonathan Howard, a neurologist and psychiatrist in New York, received an email from Youtube on Friday evening, who said that Vinay Prasad, who is the best FDA vaccine regulator, demanded the abolition of six videos of himself from Howard’s YouTube channel.

The entire Howard chain has now been deleted by YouTube, which has cited copyright violation.

The now disappeared channel contained around 350 videos of doctors and commentators, including Prasad, Robert F Kennedy Jr, the Secretary of Health and Social Services, and Jay Bhattacharya, the chief of the National Institutes of Health, who had been collected by Howard of their accounts on social media, interviews and podcasts.

The creation of the channel, told Howard Guardian in an interview, had been an attempt to “preserve” what these people had said in the first years of the pandemic, including comments according to which Howard declared the dangers of the vaccine covid for children and – in some cases – minimized the risk of infection codes, among other questions.

“These videos were nothing more than collections of what other doctors said during the pandemic, including doctors who are extremely influential and who are now the medical establishment,” he said.

The Guardian asked for a comment at the Office of Public Affairs of the Ministry of Health and Social Services and tried to reach Prasad through personal email addresses and by a listed mobile phone number. No one answered the request for comments.

When YouTube informed Howard of the request for a request, he included an e-mail address for Prasad, which is identical to the email address which is linked to the now inactive podcast of Prasad, called the Plean Session.

Prasad, a former hematologist-oncologist at the University of California San Francisco, is now at the head of the FDA biological assessment and research center (CBR), which makes him the main vaccine regulator in the United States. He was a vocal critic of Peter Marks, who previously directed CBER and was widely respected for his role in the Warp Speed ​​operation, the initiative that developed, manufactured and helped to distribute COVID-19 vaccines. Marks was forced to resign by Kennedy.

Prasad has also criticized the use of boosters coded in young people and vaccination mandates, and defended the cuts of health and university research agencies.

Although the videos that Howard is collected were often only seen “dozens” of times, Howard included them in his online articles which appeared on the blog of science -based medicine. Now these video links are dead.

He noted that extracts from Prasad’s comments had always appeared on anti-Vaccin social media accounts, suggesting that Prasad directed his request for deletion only in a critic and not anti-vaccine influencers. In the past, Prasad has complained about censorship by social media societies.
