Republican Rep. Wesley Hunt of Texas is calling for the complete and permanent abolition of the ideology of diversity, equity, and inclusion, noting that he only wants to be judged based on “character,” “competence,” and “results.”
“DEI should be permanently abolished. I never want to be chosen, promoted or awarded because of my appearance. I want to earn every opportunity based on merit, through hard work, courage, discipline and determination,” the army veteran said in an article on X.
“Equality means equal standards, not engineered results. The dignity of success comes from effort, not entitlement. Judge me by my character, my skills and my results. Anything less is an insult to all who strive to give their best,” he added.
