Paul vs. Chavez results: Holly Holm impresses in first boxing match in 12 years, wins easily

If Holly Holm had trouble readjusting towards the square circle, she certainly did not show it. Regarding her first professional boxing match in more than 12 years, the former UFC champion dominated Yolanda Guadalupe Ochoa, undefeated, to win a large unanimous decision on Saturday on Jake Paul against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Undercard at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
In the end, the three judges marked the 10 laps round for Holm, 100-90.

“I love kicking so much that I have loved MMA for some time, but I really started to feel this growing pain to want to box, so it was fun to come back and have these boxing arms removed,” said Holm. “I only competed in real wrestling shoes twice, I was barefoot all the camp, I was looking for my protector of the groin the day I flew away, I was in the trash of my garage. I always train with my same team, my same coaches, I did everyone [camp]. I have not fought in a ring, I don’t know how long, so it’s cool.

Holm (34-2-3, 9 KB) looked at a step ahead of the opening bell, rushing inside to Pepper Ochoa (10-1, 1 ko) with punches then escaping properly and out of the danger. His offense came at a coherent pace inside the pocket, and as the rounds advanced, the old Holm instinct began to be more and more. Her best rounds came in the seventh and eighth, while she was sitting on her punches and struck Ochoa, 30, with a regular series of left -handed hands, refusing to let her settle in a pace.

Holm, 43, was inducted into the renowned temple of international boxing in 2017. Largely considered as one of the greatest female boxers of all time, Holm defended its different titles 18 times in three different divisions from 2002 to 2013 before retiring from Sweet Science and fully engaging in an MMA race.
That decision swiftly paid dividends, as holm (15-7 mma) authord one of the biggest upsets in mma history just Two Years Later when shethroned Ronda Rousey to capture the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title with a Stunning Head-Kick Knockut at UFC 193. Holm Ultimataly Found 16 Times in the Octagon, Challenging Twice for the UFC Women’s Featherweight Belt in 2017 and Once More for the Coq weight title in 2019, failing in these three attempts.

After a loss of submission to Kayla Harrison, now champion, at the UFC 300 in April 2024, Holm separated each other with the chief of MMA last January. She briefly seemed to continue to participate in MMA with the Global Fight League before the promotion cancels her first event, but declared when she left the UFC that she still considered the boxing chapter of her career as an “unfinished affair”.
In May, Holm signed with Paul’s most precious promotions entity and expressed his desire to continue another title in a fourth weight category.
After its successful return on Saturday, the first step in this trip is now in the books.
