Selena Gomez looks at the basketball match at the Beyoncé concert
Selena Gomez divided people after revealing that she was watching a basketball match on her phone while he was at Beyoncé Cowboy Carter Show at the New Jersey Metlife Stadium on Sunday.
The star announced his presence at Cowboy Carter Show by sharing a photo of her in a cowboy hat from Merch and writing: “At Queen B, we rent.”
But Selena quickly followed with a photo of her apparently sitting in the bar most distant from the scene of her private suite, her phone is stuck on the glass wall project project the sports game. “I always have my attention on the game,” she subtitled the post, with the performance of Beyoncé apparently booming in the background of the image.
Needless to say, many thought it was disrespectful towards Beyoncé, especially since Selena was not even in the designated lounge area for the show. A viral tweet simply shared a screenshot in the history of Selena with legend: “Boooooooooo” and a series of tomato emojis.
But others defended Selena and insisted that there is nothing wrong with a sports fan that follows a game during another event. Discussing the situation on a Reddit forum, a user said: “I live in New York and many of my friends who went to Cowboy Carter Show last night also had the game on their phones … I’m not a basketball fan, but apparently, it was a big problem 🤷♀️”
