A 10 -year -old boy melted on the hearts on the internet after his mother discovered that he had secretly looked at, and his father, to leave love notes.

The moment, shared in a Tiktok video, reveals the powerful impact that small acts of coherent kindness can have on a child. Lisa Goebel, 46, shared the photo of a note on her son’s refrigerator, reading: “Hey mom, here is a thank you gift to be the best mother, and hello, I love you.”

Goebel spoke to Nowsweek About the discovery, and how affected she is to see her children follow the example she and her husband give them.

A family tradition of kindness

Goebel revealed that the tradition of leaving the notes began years ago. As a mother of three older boys, she always left special notes in their lunches. When she remarried, it was natural to continue the tradition with her husband. Her husband never throws them away and over time, the boys began to notice the love of their parents.

“We never thought about it a lot … until he clicks with this Tiktok video,” said Goebel. She described how notes were not only on paper, but sometimes even written with leftovers of chocolate or candy. These “random love bees” have become a natural part of their family life.

Goebel was particularly affected when his son left another note wishing his ease of his back pain.

“It made me smile and laugh because he mentioned my back,” she said. Goebel had faced a back injury for months and his son had noticed his struggle.

“Noticing and wanting me to spend a” big “day and not just a” good “day melted my heart,” said Goebel. “All I could do was hug him and tell him how much I like his heart.”

The power of a loving house

The notes are more than a simple gesture; They are a sign for Goebel and her husband whom they admit as they always hoped. Her four boys have left notes over the years, especially when she has been sick, showing their compassion and kindness.

“My heart is full,” said Goebel. “With each note to the left of one of my boys … it allows me to know that we did something good.”

For her, the most significant part of the tradition is to know that her boys have had the “privilege of living what a loving marriage should look like”. She believes that her husband was an incredible model for her sons, showing them what really likes to love someone.

“Nothing is perfect,” admitted Goebel. “We are a very real couple who had their share of the ups and downs of life … But that’s how we sailed everything to finish here – it is the beauty of what our boys can be witnesses.”
