Platner Steps in It Even More When Confronted About Latest Vile Comment – RedState
Democrats have truly locked in their support for Graham Platner as comments he has made in the past continue to fall through and torpedo his Maine Senate bid.
As we reported, one of the last things to come out in the last week was this vile Reddit rant he made about an injured American soldier in 2019. So not when he was a child or particularly young.
“That stupid mother—–didn’t deserve to live. At least her stupidity and heavy wheezing are out there for all future infantrymen to witness and despise. Bad marksmanship on the part of the Taliban is the only reason this mouth breather came home. He managed to make every possible bullshit possible when it comes to small unit combat.”
And of course, that’s on top of all the other ugly things that have already been revealed about him.

Rob O’Neill, the US Navy SEAL credited with killing Osama bin Laden, ripped Platner for his response: “Mr. Platner was completely out of line in speaking about a soldier that way.”
Fox Digital confronted him about the comment. You would think maybe he would try to apologize, and they asked him if he did – no luck.

Platner instead pointed to his own service: “I served four tours in the infantry, any attempt to say that I disrespect veterans is defamatory and offensive.”
He then asked, “Do you know how many of my friends have received Purple Hearts?” Do you know how many of my friends were injured?
The reporter probably recognized “a lot,” to which Platner agreed.
Sorry, dude, when you say the injured soldier “didn’t deserve to live” there’s something wrong. That surely seems “disrespectful” to me. Platner didn’t even bother to do the weak “You’re misinterpreting what I was saying” option in this clip. And the anger he displays – even though he was the one who made the rude comment – isn’t a good look, when you’re trying to pretend you have the temperament to be a senator.
This is the guy they pinned their hopes on in Maine? Who did former Democratic Governor Janet Mills follow? Of course, the problem is that there are probably left-leaning voters who would still vote for him, even with this and every other question. That tells you everything about the distortion of the left at this point. Why would anyone vote for someone with so many questions?
As White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson observed, Platner’s response was an “extremely bizarre position” and “the modern Democratic Party.”
