LaMonica McIver Gives Up the Game in Comments Made After Court Appearance

Unless allegedly assaulting and trying to intimidate and obstruct federal law enforcement officers is part of her job as a member of the House of Representatives, then she most certainly does need to be held accountable in a court of law.

Essex Files: The WNBA’s Goose Is Laying Golden Eggs and They’re Beating It With a Bat

Clark isn’t the problem. She’s the miracle. But miracles don’t last if you stomp them into the hardwood every other night. Sophie Cunningham understands that. Maybe the rest of the league will catch up—before it’s too late.

Hunter Biden Forgets to Pay His Bills Again, Consequences Coming

What is important to remember, however, is that this is the type of sleaze and corruption the Biden Family brought to the White House, and that it reminds us we can never let people like them in again.

The U.S. Territory With Lots of Gun Control and a Sky-High Homicide Rate

Helping to grow a culture of responsible gun ownership won’t be easy, and it’s not a quick fix. But Bryan is right that the territory’s gun laws have been a failure, and it’s high time something is finally done about it.

Illegal But ‘Honest, Hardworking Individuals’ at NE Meat Packing Plant Also Using Stolen IDs, SSNs

What led the feds to raid that plant in particular was a deep, detailed, multi-agency investigation into at least a hundred cases of individual identity theft across the country that – SURPRISE! – all led back to a massive identity theft ring originating in that very plant.

RFK Jr. Axes ALL Funding For Bill Gates’ Global ‘Vaccine Alliance’

For the record, far from a purely humanitarian organization delivering medicine to the Global South, GAVI is also quietly central to the construction of the global biomedical monitoring regime — AKA the “vaccine passport.”

A Former Intel Official Used Seven Words to Describe the Leaked Report on Trump’s Iran Strikes

Once again, we’re reminded why the legacy media is mocked, disregarded, and dying in influence. It’s packed with people who don’t know what they’re doing.

Yes, Potato, We Know: Stelter Confirms That the Media’s Job Is Not News, But ‘Sending a Message’

Just so we’re clear, what Stelter is saying is that the News Emmys were all about congratulating CBS for maligning and defaming President Trump, and promoting Kamala Harris, so egregiously that he is suing them.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

Once again, it’s Friday, so there are no formal hearings or meetings set on the Hill, but there’s sure to be plenty of activity as the Senate attempts to land the One Big Beautiful Bill plane — which is appearing a dicier prospect by the moment…

It is unclear if the Senate will vote to begin debate on the Big, Beautiful Bill today. The bill is still not complete. Multiple Republican senators object to starting debate before the plan is finished.

The GOP has encountered major hiccups as to what qualifies for the bill under special Senate budget rules.

This jeopardizes the Senate being able to pass the bill by the end of the weekend. That’s to say nothing of the House syncing up with the Senate.

It’s now possible that the Senate doesn’t vote to begin debate until as late as Sunday.

That’s could punt possible passage to Monday or Tuesday. It also means the Houee would face a quick turnaround to align with the Senate by July 4.

(See? I promised you there’d be drama.)

White House What’s Up

Friday morning, President Donald Trump will receive his intelligence briefing. In the afternoon, he’ll participate in a visit with the Foreign Ministers of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Rwanda.

Perhaps, at some point this evening, he’ll raise a Diet Coke in honor of the one-year anniversary of…this fateful night.

Full Court Press…

Today’s the day: The Supreme Court is set to hand down decisions in the final six cases before it this term. We’ll be watching and reporting on any of those of note. Here’s a primer on what’s left if you missed it yesterday:

What’s Left at SCOTUS? A Rundown of the Decisions We Can Expect on Friday

We’re also waiting to see what develops in several of the immigration-related cases, like D.V.D. v. DHS and the never-ending saga of St. Kilmar of El Salvador.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

It sounds like President Trump plans to stay in D.C. over the weekend, rather than heading to Bedminster, so that he can work the phones and help the GOP land that OBBB plane. Safe to say we’ll be seeing some hard Truths from him, leaning on reluctant Republicans to git ‘er done.

MORNING MUSING

I was fascinated watching Thursday morning’s press conference with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Dan “Razin'” Caine, particularly as Caine laid out the length of time the plan that ultimately became Operation Midnight Hammer had been in the works. The conventional wisdom has always been that, despite its many strengths, the U.S. tends to look at things in the short term, while adversaries take the long view. That’s somewhat built into the fact that we’re still the New Kids on the Block — only celebrating 250 next year. We’re babies compared to much of the world.

And yet, we seem to be showing some signs of maturing. Not without a lot — A LOT — of growing pains. But I, for one, found Caine’s description of the mission and its planning both inspiring and reassuring. I also appreciated the way he finished out this point, after praising the crews involved in the mission:

And one last thing, our adversaries around the world should know that there are other DTRA team members out there studying targets for the same amount of time and will continue to do so.

Just as it’s important to learn from our mistakes, so, too, should we capitalize on and learn from our successes. If we want to be around for another 250, it’s critical that we learn to play the long game.

LIGHTER FARE

Racing into a summer weekend like…

Bonus lighter fare and point of personal privilege  — wishing a very Happy Birthday to my handsome beau.
