Police have named a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Bronx Uber driver during a violent fender-bender, cops said Wednesday.

Ehinel Troncoso, 24, is wanted after the shooting death of Issa Mbolo Isac, 55, in his blue Toyota RAV4 on January 1, police said.

The New York Police Department also released images of the suspect and is asking for the public’s help in finding him.

FDNY firefighters responding to an unrelated car fire in the area found that Mbolo Isac’s Toyota with Taxi & Limousine Commission license plates had crashed into a white sedan parked on Morris Ave., near the Cross Bronx Expressway service road, just before 7 a.m.

The FDNY alerted police, who determined that Mbolo Isac had been shot at least twice in the head.

Surveillance footage recovered at the scene showed the Uber driver engaged in a scuffle with the attacker shortly before the confrontation.

“(They) crashed on the corner right there,” an area worker who reviewed surveillance footage told the Daily News. “After that, the guy in the Mercedes, he stopped, he parked there. The guy in the taxi, he parked.”

The Mercedes driver walks away from the camera for a few minutes, then returns and begins arguing with the Uber driver, said the worker, who asked not to be named. The shooter then disappears again and returns with a woman. Mbolo Isac remained parked at the scene throughout the ordeal, the worker said.

“For about 10 minutes the guy in the taxi was parked there,” he said. “He stayed there for a few minutes and after that the (shooter) comes back.”

This time, the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire on Mbolo Isac, who was trying to escape, the worker said. Ballistic evidence recovered at the scene confirms that the shooter fired from the street toward the Uber driver’s car.

“I counted 17 shots,” the worker said. “He just kept going.”

The victim previously drove a yellow taxi, but sold his taxi medallion to finance the purchase of a house in Africa for his family, said Fernando Mateo, president of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

Mbolo Isac shared his Toyota with a friend, who drove the SUV for Uber during the day, while the victim used the vehicle in the evening and at night.

“He started working around 7 p.m. (on) New Year’s Eve,” Mateo said. “New Year’s Day is a very lucrative day because there aren’t a lot of drivers willing to work. So we know it was a profitable day for him, and he was probably on his way home.”

Members of the New York State Taxi Drivers’ Federation are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
