FDA Announces Cottage Cheese Recall—Products Sold in 24 States May Be a Health Risk

A recall is underway for Great Value cottage cheese sold in Walmart stores in 24 states, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Wednesday. The products may contain liquid dairy ingredients that have not been fully pasteurized, which may lead to illness, although none have been reported in the recall so far.

The recalled cottage cheese, produced by Saputo Cheese USA Inc. (SUSA), and sold under the Great Value brand, can be identified as follows:

The products were sold February 17-20, 2026 at Walmart stores in Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
