Predicted Borussia Dortmund Line-up vs Manchester City: Nico Schlotterbeck returns

Borussia Dortmund will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. local time.

With six clean sheets in nine Bundesliga games this season, Dortmund’s defense is a force to be reckoned with, but they face a difficult task in silencing Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has scored 17 goals in 13 matches in all competitions this season.

Niko Kovač received a welcome boost with the return of Nico Schlotterbeck, who is expected to start in the bottom three after overcoming a bout of flu. The Dortmund defensive stalwart is expected to start alongside Waldemar Anton and Ramy Bensebaini, with Niklas Süle missing due to a toe injury.

BVB will also have to do without Julian Brandt (Muscular), who has been a surprise this season with six goals in 13 appearances in all competitions. As such, Karim Adeyemi, Maximilian Beier and Serhou Guirassy should form the visitors’ attacking trio.
