Prep talk: Another emergency, another athletic trainer to the rescue

Another sports coach at the rescue. For the third time in less than a year, a high school sports coach helped stabilize a patient in distress.

Fortner, 34, who was running on the track in Oxnard, shaped on the field while the players were looking at. She helped to make sure that the defensive coordinator Tim Murphy on her side and began to provide aid with Camallo sports coach and two EMT who are Camillo coaches. An ambulance arrived within three minutes.
Last month, the rapid action of the football coach in San Clemente and the sports coach using an AED machine helped save a cardiac arrest coach. And last spring, the Culver City sports coach helped save an athletics athlete who was arrested heart.
Murphy was back on the coach’s touch Thursday evening. He said the tests were negative, but he plans to do additional tests.
“I was very lucky to do it where I was,” said Murphy.
Lycées in the school district of the Oxnard Union high school are lucky. All except one have sports coaches thanks to an agreement with the regional medical center of St. John’s and the health of dignity.
