When you ask twins Hudson and Chance December about their unusual last name, it’s like there’s a secret to keep.

In fact, both of El Camino Real’s junior baseball players have a famous father who changed his last name in December. This is Nathan December, a rock guitarist who was a side musician with REM and the Goo Goo Dolls.

His love for music was passed down to the twins. Both play the piano and the guitar. They are involved in the El Camino Real arts program.

As for baseball, they both played for El Camino Real’s championship junior varsity team last season and are trying to find a spot on City’s 10-time championship varsity team that won the title last season at Dodger Stadium.

If El Camino Real could only carry a piano onto the baseball field, the December boys would probably sing a cool national anthem.
