Pres. Donald Trump Tells Cambodia, Thailand They Must Cease Fire Before More US Trade Talks – RedState

If we know something about Donald Trump is that he is still looking for a way to negotiate an agreement and even if he makes a trip abroad to, in part, check his golf properties, that does not prevent him from staying on this track. I will share the details on this subject in a moment.
Friday and earlier on Saturday, we wrote on the trip of the president to Scotland, during which he should meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, to consolidate the agreement already signed with the close US Ally. After landing in Scotland, the president. Trump has made a severe warning to European leaders on the ravages that illegal immigration could inflict on their country, if they continue to fail the kidney.
He met on Sunday the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen on several fronts, in part in the hope of concluding a trade agreement with these countries.

Saturday afternoon, however, the president. Trump has brought his Truth social account to announce that what you could call a situation of hybrid disagreement is in preparation, on a ceasefire between long-standing nations of Cambodia and Thailand:

Trump said he had spoken for the first time with the Prime Minister of Cambodia:
I have just spoken to the Prime Minister of Cambodia compared to the end of the war with Thailand. I call the acting Prime Minister of Thailand, at the moment, to also ask for a ceasefire and at the end of the war, which is currently raging. It turns out that we are, by coincidence, which currently deal with trade with the two countries, but do not want to conclude an agreement, with one or the other country, if they are fighting – and I told them! The call with Thailand is made momentarily. The call with Cambodia ended, but expect to recall with regard to the war stop and the cease-fire depending on what Thailand has to say. I try to simplify a complex situation! Many people are killed in this war, but it reminds me a lot of the conflict between Pakistan and India, which has been interrupted.
He then spoke to the acting Prime Minister of Thailand:
I just spoke to the acting Prime Minister of Thailand, and it was a very good conversation. Thailand, like Cambodia, wants to have an immediate cease-fire and peace. I will now relay this message to the Prime Minister of Cambodia. After talking to the two parties, the cease-fire, peace and prosperity seems to be a natural. We will see soon!
Notice in several of these articles which he emphasizes that one cannot occur without the other, with an end of the fighting of a business condition with the United States, one of the most desirable markets in the world:
I just had a very good call with the Prime Minister of Cambodia and I informed him of my discussions with Thailand and his acting Prime Minister. The two parties are looking for an immediate ceasefire and peace. They also seek to return to the “trade table” with the United States, which we think we are inappropriate to do until the fights stop. They agreed to meet immediately and quickly determine a ceasefire and, finally, peace! It was an honor to deal with the two countries. They have a long and legendary history and culture. I hope they will get along for many years to come. When everything is over and peace is at hand, I can’t wait to conclude our trading agreements with both!
There was no immediate response from Cambodia chief, Prime Minister Hun Manet, but Reuters cited a Declaration of the country’s defense on Saturday on recent clashes:
… The Defense Ministry of Cambodia said that Thailand had launched “a deliberate, unlike and illegal military attack” and mobilized troops and military equipment on the border.
“These deliberate military preparations reveal the intention of Thailand to expand its aggression and to further violate Cambodia sovereignty,” he said.
Cambodia has called upon the international community to “condemn the assault of Thailand in the strongest terms” and to prevent an expansion of its military activities, while Bangkok reiterated that it wanted to resolve the bilateral dispute.
The acting PM of Thailand reacted to the president. The social messages of Trump’s truth in his own article on Facebook, reported Reuters in history linked above:
The acting Prime Minister of Thailand, Phumtham Wechayachai, thanked Trump and said that Thailand “was in principle for having a cease-fire in place” but “would like to see a sincere intention on the Cambodian side”.
…
Phumtham also said that he had asked Trump “to transmit to the Cambodian part that Thailand wanted to convene a bilateral dialogue as soon as possible to propose measures and procedures for the ceasefire and the possible peaceful resolution of the conflict”.
Here are some background details on the fighting in recent months between nations:
More than 30 people were killed and more than 130,000 people were moved to the worst fights between the neighbors of Southeast Asia in 13 years.
Before Trump speaks to the two leaders, clashes on the Thai Cargodian border persisted in a third day and that new lightning points emerged while the two parties said they had acted in self -defense in the border dispute and called on the other to stop fighting and starting negotiations.
There were clashes early on Saturday, the two parties said in the Thai coastal province close to Trat and the province of Cambodia Pursat, a new front at more than 100 km (60 miles) from other points of conflict along the long -standing border.
As we have already written in June, President Trump spoke of the many peace agreements that he inaugurated which, according to him, should lead to a Nobel Peace Prize, for which several countries have already appointed him. But Trump said at the time: “They will not give me a Nobel Peace Prize”, since “[t]Hey, only give it to the Liberals. “We will see.
