The registered office of the far -right national part of France was attacked on Wednesday by the police, said its president Jordan Bardella, with armed officers carrying vests to the test of bullets and accompanied by judges entering emails, documents and accounting files.

Publishing on X, Bardella said that he did not know “the basis of this action”, only that the files related to the recent party’s electoral activity.

He described it as “spectacular and unprecedented operation” which “was clearly part of a new harassment campaign”. He added: “It is a serious attack on pluralism and democratic change.”

The National Anti-Immigration Rally Party has gained popularity in recent years, for having been right away from the government by a coalition of traditional political forces after an early election called last year by President Emmanuel Macron.

In April, his co-founder and de facto chief, Marine Le Pen, was found guilty of campaign campaign funds, prohibited from her duties for five years and sentenced to a house arrest for two years. She denies the offenses and the Paris Court of Appeal said that she will make a decision on her decision of the decision by next summer.
