Man shot to death inside car in Humboldt Park, police say

A man was shot and killed inside his car on the city’s northwest side Friday evening, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, near North Saint Louis and West Wabansia avenues, just before 9 p.m.

A 30-year-old man was inside his parked vehicle when a suspect approached, pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.

The victim, hit in the head, was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter fled the scene on foot, police said.

There is no one in custody and area five detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
