Queens man accused of setting dog on fire arrested by NYPD

Police arrested a Queens man on Tuesday who set fire to a dog in Queens, said cops.
Isaiah K. Gurley, 29, was accused of reckless endangerment, aggravated cruelty to animals, the criminal fire, torture and the injury of an animal. The police said that he had been taken surveillance images that show him dragging a motionless creature in the block around 4:45 am Thursday before taking him to a street corner at 128th St. and 116th Ave. at South Ozone Park.

Gurley, who wore a brown hooded sweatshirt with a polo logo across the chest, was then seen hanging out the animal in the street, pouring a flammable liquid on it and setting it on fire before fleeing, said Cops.
It was not immediately clear if the animal, which would be a pit-ball, was alive or dead when the suspect set him on the streets.
The neighbors and the first speakers found the inverted dog at the corner shortly after. The aspca and the squad of cruelty to nypd animals investigated.
A police source knowing the case said that the dog, although motionless, was a “healthy weight” and did not seem injured or badly nourished in the surveillance images that the cops recovered.
A passer -by alerted the 911 after seeing Gurley walk in the street, leading to his arrest on Monday evening.
Gurley’s indictment was pending Tuesday afternoon before the Queens Criminal Tribunal.
